Regarding the weather forecast, we are aware that there are concerns about forecasted incremented weather on Friday.
The forecast from the Weather Channel calls for 88 degrees and a chance of scattered thunderstorms with varying percentage chances throughout the day, so lets hope for the best.
Bike to the Beach is a rain or shine event, and, in the case of inclement weather, our logistical team has an Inclement Weather Plan in-place.
Each rest stop has a designated shelter in place in the case of lightning or extreme winds and we have a communication plan in place to get the word out about what needs to be done at any moment. That said, if you do see lightning please take shelter at the closest building and tune to our Twitter account for updates.
Follow our Twitter account as well for announcements over the course of the day.
If you have any questions, feel free to talk with us at packet pickup and with volunteers along the course.
