Your ride is Friday, you have gotten your training in, you’ve got your ride plan set, and a place to stay after the ride, now the last step is to make sure you make the most out of your efforts towards fundraising.
Every Bike to the Beach rider raises hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars to fund our partner programs in autism and bike advocacy every year. Most riders raise the majority of those funds in the last few days prior to the ride. We want to help you do the most, as well as show off that you are riding this week, so we’ve got a few tips for you.
Fundraising Ride Week
First, check out our social media images we have created for you. You can save these as your profile picture or cover photo on your favorite social media channel. Click here to access all of the pictures, and see our quick tips on how to get them all set.
Keep sharing this week! Even if you’ve hit your goal, you can help raise more money by posting as you prepare for the ride this week. Share pictures of yourself getting prepped for the ride, take some time to write more on your fundraising page, then re-share it online and send it out to your friends and family one more time.
Fundraising Ride Day
On ride day, one way to make posting for your Bike to the Beach ride easier is to copy and past your fundraising page link and the Bike to the Beach hashtags on your phone, so then all you need to do is paste them to the bottom of your photos and videos you post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Post your photos along the route so that your friends and family can keep track of your progress.
Copy these hashtags: #b2bNY #BiketotheBeach my.biketothebeach.org/yourURL
Fundraising After the Ride
We’re going to have a photo booth at the finish line this year! We’ll have a backdrop and camera equipment out for you to snap some photos with your fellow riders and loved ones at the finish line. Be sure to put your social media info and email into there so that we can get those photos out to you.
Finally, the day after the ride put a post out thanking everyone who supported you. Thank those who trained with you, your donors, the volunteers, and everyone who cheered you on. They were an integral part of making Bike to the Beach happen, and they’ll appreciate the recognition. They may even repost it and get more people to consider donating to you. 😉
This may all seem like a lot to do, but if every rider raised an extra $25 donation on the day of the ride we would have enough money to fund one of our iCan Shine Bike Camps. That’s something you can definitely be proud to say you helped make happen.
