May 1, 2020 Update
As the world around us rapidly changes, it is important to remember what stays the same, our commitment to our community and partners. During this challenging time, we have been inspired by the great work our partners are doing to assist distance learning and to support independent living group homes. We have always been proud to support our partners and are now more proud than ever. As they worked everyday on the frontlines, we immediately began to plan how we could be their reinforcements and support.
As we look to aid local services, we wanted to continue to lean into our strengths and our resources, our unique position as a host of a collaborative network of organizations, our digital/virtual tools and databases, and our committed community of advocates and fundraisers. As we reflected on these strengths, we narrowed our focus to three key initiatives to support our community’s response to Covid-19.
As we look to the light at the end of the tunnel, we remain operationally optimistic about hosting all our events this year. We are building out plans to meet and exceed any CDC and government recommendations for group gatherings. We have come up with some great plans to minimize physical interactions and to enable social distancing. We are committed to hosting our events to continue to be a funding and fundraising tool for our partners through their emergence from this challenging time.
While we continue to work with our partners to navigate these challenging times, we look forward to a time when we can all come together as friends, take on the challenge of Biking to the Beach, and celebrating together at the finish line.
