Valentino enrolled as a student at Crossroads School in March, 2018 and quickly started making progress towards his goals. Every day, he practices following a schedule using the application Choiceworks. Following a schedule is an important skill to promote independence for all students, especially those with autism and other related diagnoses. Recently, Valentino completed his leisure and pack-up routine independently!
His mother is proud of his accomplishments and grateful to the teachers at Crossroads. “The staff are not only educated on how to help kids like Valentino, but they are also kind, caring, and truly want the children to succeed,” she said.
During his pack-up routine he gets his backpack and jacket, gathers his home note, and collects the timers as a classroom job! “Valentino has made progress in all aspects of his daily routines,” his mother shared. “He hit his one-year mark at Crossroads this March and it has been a amazing year! We are so proud to be a part of the Crossroads community!
